Welcome to Countryside Cats, a small, family-run Maine Coon cattery nestled in northwest Pennsylvania, about an hour outside of Erie!
We're a small household with a big love for animals, and our cats are much more than just pets or part of a breeding program. Our journey with Maine Coons began with a love for their remarkable personalities, affectionate nature, and the special relationships they form with their families. What started as an appreciation for the breed eventually grew into Countryside Cats. They're members of our family, each with their own unique personality, habits, and little quirks that make life with them endlessly entertaining!
Our cats and kittens are raised right here in our home, surrounded by the everyday sights, sounds, and activities of family life. From playful kittens discovering the world for the first time to our adults supervising everything we do, there's rarely a dull moment around here. It’s a quiet country life and they have fun exploring it with their big dog brother!
Our Cats Are Our Family
We believe that raising happy, well-adjusted kittens begins with providing a loving, comfortable environment where they can grow, explore, and develop their own personalities.
Our kittens receive individual attention, affection, and opportunities to socialize as they grow. We enjoy getting to know each of them and watching their personalities develop, from the adventurous troublemakers to the quiet little observers.
And when the time comes for them to leave us, finding the right family is far more important than finding the quickest home.
We're never in a hurry to say goodbye!
Finding Forever Homes
One of the most rewarding parts of raising Maine Coons is watching our kittens grow into wonderful companions and eventually become beloved members of their new families.
We take that responsibility seriously.
We want our kittens to go to homes where they'll be loved, understood, and cared for throughout their lives. We're happy to answer questions, discuss their individual personalities, and help prospective owners decide whether a Maine Coon is the right fit for their household.
We also love hearing from families after their kittens have gone home! Watching them grow, seeing pictures of their adventures, and knowing they've become such an important part of someone else's family is incredibly rewarding.
Our Breeding Practices
At Countryside Cats, we believe responsible breeding requires thoughtful planning, attention to health, and a commitment to the well-being of every cat in our care.
We carefully consider our breeding arrangements and take steps to prevent unplanned litters. Our intact males have their own spacious enclosures within our home, allowing them to remain surrounded by the familiar sights and sounds of everyday household life while preventing unintended pregnancies.
We also recognize the importance of veterinary care, appropriate health screening, nutrition, socialization, and providing an environment that supports the individual needs of our cats.
Our goal is to raise healthy, well-socialized kittens while ensuring that our adult cats receive the care, attention, and consideration they deserve.
